This page features the 5 easiest positions of the C major scale, excluding first position. In second position, the first finger plays the second fret, second finger third fret, third finger 4th fret and 4th finger 5th fret. Since the first finger can stretch to the first fret and the 4th finger can stretch to the 5th fret, the position number is defined as the fret number one fret below the second finger. As you play these scales, pay strict attention to using the correct fingers. Notice that the second and third fingers never stretch up or down. These Same 5 fingering patterns are used for all 12 major keys. If You have questions regarding in home / office guitar instruction please go back a page and click on the contact button.
